Some Facts On Shelly 

Crowned as the Female Entertainer and Female Vocalist of the 2002 Tejano Music Awards, SHELLY LARES has been performing since she was a child. She started in church choir and at school functions and the word on her talent spread quickly. SHELLY was inspired by such forceful Female Entertainers like Pat Benatar, Olivia Newton John, and the Wilson Sisters from Heart and she never looked back. Her destiny was set in stone.

SHELLY was signed in 1989. During the next five years SHELLY made 8 records. While most performers were just getting started SHELLY positioned herself at the top of the list of Female Entertainers racking up hit after hit. Her early start created a very loyal Fan Base. This is imperative for a Tejano Entertainer to sustain his or her status in this industry.

Sony Discos signed SHELLY in 1995. She made 6 records under the Sony Discos Label. During this time SHELLY was fortunate to work with such artists as Carl Perkins, LeAnn Rimes, Clay Walker, Steve Wariner, The Oakridge Boys, and Holly Dunn.

SHELLY is an accredited BMI songwriter, producer, and plays guitar, drums and percussion and of courseis of the best singers in the Latin Industry. SHELLY has always been a pioneer. She has some of the best video work ever produced in Tejano Music. Her Videos include: "Sabes Que Si","Soy Tu Amor", "Es Que Estoy Enamorada", "Siempre lo Esperate", and "Vas A Pagar".

In 2001 SHELLY LARES signed a long term contract with Tejas Records. Tejas Records is known for their innovatie approach to promotion, videos, record covers, and recordings.
